Privacy Policy
Piece8 is a player for your IPTV playlists and your media servers, developed by Stefano Moro. It provides no content and has no server of its own: we do not collect, sell or share personal data, and we use no analytics, advertising or tracking.
Your playlists
Piece8 connects only to the servers you add. Addresses and credentials stay on your device (passwords in the Keychain) and are used only to download the catalogue and play the content. A playlist chosen as a file stays on your device.
Your media servers
Piece8 connects to the Jellyfin, Emby and Plex servers you add and tells them what you watch and where you stop, so that their own apps find your place too. For Plex, signing in goes through plex.tv with a code: Plex gives Piece8 the list of your account's servers. The access keys stay in the Keychain. If you keep Plex's free channels on, they come from Plex's service, with its ads.
Artwork and plots (TMDB)
When the option is on, Piece8 asks The Movie Database (TMDB) for artwork, plots and cast by sending the title and year of the films and series in your playlist. Nothing that identifies you is sent. You can turn it off in Settings.
Subtitles (OpenSubtitles)
When you search for subtitles, Piece8 sends OpenSubtitles the title and the languages you want. If you sign in with your OpenSubtitles account, your credentials go only to OpenSubtitles and the password stays in the Keychain.
Trailers
Trailers are YouTube videos: on iPhone and iPad in privacy-enhanced mode, on Apple TV in the YouTube app.
Channel logos
For channels without a logo, Piece8 downloads public lists (iptv-org, picons) at most once a week, and the logo images from the sites that host them. Matching them to your channels happens on your device: nothing is sent.
On your device
Favourites, progress, settings and diagnostic logs stay on your device and are not sent to anyone.
TMDB, OpenSubtitles, YouTube and Plex have their own privacy policies. Questions: show the address.
